Sunscreem’s third studio album Out Of The Woods was completed in 1997 after a string of seven Top 40 hits and five dance chart #1 singles. However, after a dispute with their record company, it was never released, and the band and songwriters Lucia and Paul gave up recording to concentrate on bringing up a family. Twenty-one years later, the album is available on limited CD release for the first time.
SUNSCREEM HQ notes (2018)
“Out of The Woods” was recorded in the turbulent period during which writers Lucia and Paul left their major record label, the band members dispersed to start other projects, and then their new record company crashed just as the first single “Catch” had climbed to the top of the dance charts in both the UK and USA. The album was never released, however a number of promotional copies were made and distributed among fans. Some tracks – notably “Who Will Love Me Now” – were remixed and released separately. Twenty-one years on, the full-length original album of 13 tracks is released.

Sunscreem’s third studio album “Out Of The Woods” created two top-5 dance singles, a remix album and even a worldwide hit for another artist… however the album itself was never released. Twenty one years later, the recordings are released in their original form on November 23rd.
BANDCAMP notes (2018)
- Britannia
Love it or hate it – Britannia‘s strange mix of Country and Western with acid techno divides fans and once had the band thrown out of a record company offices because the label boss was so annoyed by it. Originally written about the country’s appalling environmental record, it now seems remarkably prescient in the age of Brexit. - Catch
Remixes by Red Jerry and the band’s own DJ Dave Valentine helped propel the single of Catch to #1 in the UK dance chart and #2 in the US Billboard chart. - Change
Sunscreem remixed the third track Change on their ‘Out Of The Woods’ album with DJ/Producer Darren Tate, who used the track as the basis for the Angelic hit It’s My Turn. - Cover Me
A remix by The Trouser Enthusiasts was released to DJs in 1997, but the record label went into liquidation before a full single release could be completed. This is the album version with a notably different arrangement to the single version on the bootleg. - Good Times
This instrumental was left off the original promo of the album given out by the band’s label Pulse-8 and is therefore missing from the bootleg. - Who Will Love Me Now
The band remixed this fans’ favourite with Belgian trance producer Push in 2001, resulting in a UK top 40 hit which was used in the film “South West 9” about the Brixton rave scene. - Wonder
The final song on the album was originally left off the promo by label Pulse-8, possibly because of the references in the lyrics to giving everything up.
